Canvas is an online learning management system for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This Online@UT (Canvas) is designed to help students and teachers build an easy-to-use communication system.
Canvas is a Learning Management System, that offers an easy user interface and students can learn anytime & anywhere. Canvas provides many ways to engage students inside and outside of class with online discussions, group projects, and quizzes for mastery.
Faculty can create practice quizzes, tests, grade group assignments, assignments, anonymous surveys, and track and manage student performance using Course Analytics.
Using Canvas UTK, Students can create & manage profiles, view their current courses on the dashboard, import content from a previous semester’s Canvas course, submit peer review assignments & many more in Canvas.

How to Login into UTK Canvas?
After getting UTK NetID & Password at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Canvas Portal, now it’s time to log in at Canvas UTK. If you want to access all features like to view their course schedule, access their courses, and contact their instructors & other programs.
Here is the step-by-step guide to UTK Canvas login, follow it and enjoy a great experience.
- Canvas Login through the website in the browser
Canvas is now the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s official Learning Management System (LMS). If you are taking an online class or a class with an online component, you will have access to log into your UTK Canvas account.
Follow this process to log into UTK Canvas (Online@UT).
- Navigate to the oit.utk.edu to access the main page of UTK Canvas.
- Click On the Online@UT (Canvas) Login button in the right corner.
- This prompts you to log in with your UTK NetID & password.
- Here you can enter your UTK NetID & password.
After successfully logging into Canvas, you will be taken to your “Canvas Dashboard,” where you can view your course schedule, access your courses, and contact your instructors.

- 1. Access UTK Canvas from a mobile device
Canvas has different mobile apps for Students & Instructors. The Canvas Student app is the mobile version of Canvas that helps students stay current with their courses anywhere.
The Canvas Teacher app allows Instructors to manage certain aspects of their course, communicate with students, and grade assignments from a mobile device.
To access UTK Canvas from a mobile device, simply follow these instructions.
- Go to the IOS App Store or Android Play Store and download the “Canvas Teacher by Instructure” and/or the “Canvas Student by Instructure” app.
- After installing the app, open the Canvas Mobile.
- Once you have opened the app, you will be presented with a page to search for your school. Tap Find Your School or District.
- Enter “University of Tennessee, Knoxville” or “UTK” and hit the arrow to continue. This will take you to Web Access, where you will log in with your UTK NetID & Password Credentials.
- After logging in, you will be presented with your list of courses.
- You can also access Canvas using a mobile browser on your iOS or Android device.
- That’s done, now you can access the canvas dashboard with all futures.
The Canvas app will let you get the majority of the features on your Canvas classes, but navigation on a mobile device is somewhat different in contrast to navigation onto a pc.
